Unto whom He hath said, `This [is] the rest, give ye rest to the weary, And this -- the refreshing:' And they have not been willing to hear.”

“...reform ye, therefore, and turn back, for your sins being blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord...”

~ Acts 3:19 (YLT)

The two verses listed above regarding the kind of refreshing we so desire (that of renewing of our spirits, souls, bodies) from the Lord specify the need to listen and the need to repent of and cleansing of our sins.

So before we pray for God to bring us refreshing, we’ll need to first confess our sins and then pray for forgiveness and cleansing.
